Fly-In Canoe Trips

Fly-in Boundary Waters & Quetico Park Fishing, Canoeing and Camping Trips

With a float plane fly-in canoe trip, getting there is half the adventure!

A fly-in gets you deep into the wilderness and saves several days of paddling to some of the most remote lakes, and outstanding fishing. It also allows you to bypass the busier drive-to entry points.

Our completely outfitted fly-in trips include specialized ultra-lightweight We-no-nah Kevlar flight canoes and ultralight equipment. Load up conveniently at the Ely seaplane base and be whisked away to remote paddling destinations.

End your trip by paddling out, or returning by float plane.

Fly-ins are available from Ely to:

Because you will be flying and starting your trip in Canada, you must bring the following:

(1) A valid US Passport for each person.  This requirement includes children.  An actual Passport book is necessary.  Limited documents such as special Passport Cards are not acceptable.

(2) A CANPASS Remote Area Border Crossing Permit (RABC).  Details and requirements are at http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/canpass/rabc-pfre/menu-eng.html.  The application form is at http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/bsf386-eng.pdf.  The Canadian Border Services Agency indicates processing time is three to four weeks.  We suggest submitting this application by mail as soon as possible.

(3) An Ontario Outdoors Card and fishing license if you intend to fish in Canada.  Obtain your license online in advance at http://www.ontario.ca/outdoorscard.   Also, please be aware that live bait, organic bait, and the use of barbed hooks is prohibited in Quetico Provincial Park.

(4)  If minors are on the trip and not accompanied by both parents, then a signed letter from the non-accompanying parent that he or she is aware the child is traveling out of the country and granting permission for the trip should be carried.
