BWCAW Driving Directions
Driving distance: 53 miles (1 hour and 45 minutes)
Note: These directions take you to Scott’s Resort and Seaplane Base where our guests typically board a motorboat to be transported to Lac la Croix (via Little Vermilion Lake). It is very unusual for a group to start paddling from Crane Lake to access this entry point.
Start at Ely Outfitting Company.
Drive east on Hwy 169 out of Ely for 1.8 miles.
Turn left on Hwy 88/Grant McMahan Blvd.
Go 2.2 miles.
Turn right onto Echo Trail.
Go 46 miles.
Turn right on Crane Lake Rd. at the T intersection.
Go 7.1 miles.
Veer left onto Gold Coast Rd.
Go .3 miles.
Turn right into Scott’s Resort and Seaplane Base.
Check in at Scott’s Resort front desk to pay for parking and for directions on where to park.
