Logan started guiding in the BWCAW while working a summer job at an Ely resort at the age of 19. He has since moved to Ely full time and is a year-round guide. He leads sled dog trips in the winter and canoeing, camping, and fishing trips in the summer.
Fishing is Logan’s passion, so when having a day off in the summer or winter you can find him at his favorite secluded Boundary Waters fishing spots. His love for fishing boils down to the desire to understand fish behavior, predict them, and reap the benefits of a good catch to make a fine meal.
Logan is an Eagle Scout as well as a certified Wilderness First Responder.
Logan loves to hear stories of travel and adventure and is always willing to share some northwoods tales of his own.
There is magic in the feel of a paddle and the movement of a canoe, a magic compounded of distance, adventure, solitude and peace. The way of a canoe is the way of the wilderness and of a freedom almost forgotten, the open door to waterways of ages past and a way of life with profound and abiding satisfaction.
